It was a treat to visit the Butterfly House and see many varieties fluttering about. There were volunteers available to answer questions and introduce you to the butterflies.
After spending some time there, we wandered through the incredible Japenese garden.
I had the chance to visit a friend at her job on my drive to Springfield. While there, she introduced me to The Last Supper by Domenic Zappia.

Independence Day happened while I was visiting family in Missouri. Their neighbors down the street put on an amazing fireworks show for everyone! It was insane and cool … and not very buggy.
With Labor Day coming up, it seemed like the perfect time to post these. Another holiday to celebrate with crazy fun things!
Although, perhaps not fireworks so close and so bright a person could read outside so late in the night.
While on vacation to Missouri, J3 took me to his favorite creek to do some fishing. No fish were caught that day, but we had some laughs and time spent together.
Many pets are part of life in Missouri, including four tanks of fish. This shy guy seemed to warm up to me sitting in front of his tank and came out, swimming back and forth.
I took this one the coldest weekend of the year while staying at a friend’s cabin. It was something like 40 below, not counting the wind. Gah! It was so cold I only stayed out for a couple of minutes.
Now that it’s getting hot out, here’s a quick reminder of a chipper winter morn.
