In the process of time, God’s plan will unfold.
Stay on the path that the Lord your God has commanded you to follow. Then you will live long and prosperous lives in the land you are about to enter and occupy. Deuteronomy 5:33
Oh, the joys of those who do not
follow the advice of the wicked,
or stand around with sinners,
or join in with mockers.
But they delight in the law of the Lord,
meditating on it day and night.
They are like trees planted along the riverbank,
bearing fruit each season.
Their leaves never wither,
and they prosper in all they do.
“That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life—whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn’t life more than food, and your body more than clothing? Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?
“And why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don’t work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God cares so wonderfully for wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith?
“So don’t worry about these things, saying, ‘What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?’ These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.
“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today. Matthew 6:25-34
Because of God’s tender mercy, the morning light from heaven is about to break upon us, to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, and to guide us to the path of peace.” Luke 1:78-79
One day while ambling through Springbrook I was reminded how life was like the paths there. Some are straight and narrow, some are relatively smooth walking. Most, though, are uneven and dirty, and can be uncomfortable if you’re not prepared.
And to take it a step further…I believe that as at Springbrook, while you can choose to stay on the easy paths and kinda skate through life, but you will miss out on the growth that comes with the rough paths. There are extra special beautiful things to see and experience if you leave the smooth path – should you choose to look for them.
It’s all a choice. Sometimes one to make every minute but always daily.
Here we are in December and I’m still posting fall pictures! Well, it *is* my favorite time of year! Hopefully, we do not have snow yet…This was a calming walk, although quick, because of the brisk cold wind. A sweatshirt just wasn’t warm enough!
Springbrook Nature Center is my favorite place to visit on a good weather day. Different things can be seen by switching up which paths you walk on, what the weather is like, and the season. During the Fall the landscape changes weekly! Springbrook has gone through many changes in the past year, most of which I am loving. During this walk I found a little path that took me to a little haven full of bright yellow happiness. The little yellow flowers above remind me of the sun emblem of Rapunzel’s kingdom in Tangled. For a couple months there was this cool tree teepee deep in the woods. I knew some boys who would have loved playing in it, but alas! It was taken down before they could visit.
Oh happy Autumn day at Springbrook Nature Center last November!
